Internet safety

Protecting our children from the dangers posed by using the internet requires parents and children to know the basics of internet safety.

Check out our Internet Matter's useful guides on keeping your children safe online.

Children must always:

  • Always ask for an adult’s permission before using the internet.
  • Never give out personal information e.g. name, home address, school or any telephone numbers. If they are asked for this information, they must tell an adult straight away.
  • If a website asks for a name or email address, always check with an adult.
